Kenya Power Forced To Terminate Third Party Token Vendors Contracts After Public Uproar

Third party tokens vendors have been put on a three months notice by Kenya power following public outcry on delays after purchasing tokens.

The energy ministry and the the Kenya power had during a senate committee appearance admitted that customers have been receiving outrageous bills and reduced tokens after purchasing. They said that the third party vendors were partly to blame for the inflated bills.

VendiT and Dynamo currently control 35% of the purchases and charge to render their services and hence the inflation. Due to the public outcry The Kenya power has agreed to terminate the two contracts.

The Energy minister and the Kenya power were put to task by the senate committee after an online uproar . They blamed various factors for the inflated power bills. They said that the water level was low due to drough and therefore they were forced to use diesel which is more costly.
