The Kenya men’s National basketball team made history for the first time playing an international friendly in Kigali Rwanda.
The Moran’s as they are popularly known have started a campaign towards qualifying for the Africa cup of nation’s by changing strategy.
The team which is in Rwanda for two friendly matches put up a spirited fight in the first game but lost to the hosts 80-65 at the jam packed Amahoro stadium.
National team coach Cliff Owuor told Kahawa Tungu that the team is restructuring so as to put up a better performance in the Africa cup of Nation’s qualifiers in June this year
“We are preparing our local players and restructuring the team so as to give better results in June,” Coach Owuor said.
The team manager Mercine Milimu said that the Federation was seeking to improve the Outlook of the team so as to regain past glory.

“Kenya used to be the East African giant and we seek to regain the spot at the top by playing as many friendlies to garner the necessary experience to competitively compete at the international level,” Milimu said
The team has so far played three international friendlies in a bid to improve their chemistry. Rwanda hosted team Kenya and are hoping to gain from the friendlies as they proceed to play the World Cup qualifiers in February 22.
