National Youth Service (NYS) general, Richard Ndubai has issued former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka with an eviction notice from the 500 acre land in Yatta constituency.
Mr Ndubai, through a newspaper notice noted that the land is registered to NYS and has given Kalonzo 14 days to vacate the premises.
“The department, therefore, does not recognize any claim whatsoever that any individual and or entity has over the said parcels of land whether through themselves, their agents, assigns or successors,” the notice read in part.
The department has directed that those in possession of title deeds to the grabbed 23,170 acres should surrender them to Mr Ndubai or risk repossession at own cost.
“Failure to surrender the department shall embark on the process of repossession of the subject parcels at the individuals’ or entities own peril as to the attendant costs and legal consequences arising from such repossessions,” the notice reads.
But the Wiper party leader has denied acquiring the land fraudulently, saying that the acquisition was between a willing buyer, willing seller and will fight the order in court.
On Tuesday, Kalonzo said that the government was on a ‘serious witch-hunt that we must fight.’
