A 28-year-old woman has given birth to five babies at Kakamega General Hospital.

Evelyn Namukhula, a resident of Sisokhe village, delivered three girls and two boys through a Caesarean Section on Wednesday.

Namukhula and her husband Herbert Wawire who had four other children, have a total of nine children now.

Last year, a father of twins fainted at Narok County Referral hospital after his wife delivered triplets.

Francis Gitau, who was already struggling to keep up with harsh economic times, reportedly lost consciousness when his 30-year-old wife, Jacinta Mwihaki, shared the news.

In 2017, a 30-year-old woman in Oyugis, Homabay County also gave birth to quintuplets.

Jacinta Akinyi was seven months pregnant at the time of the delivery.

Unfortunately, two of the children passed away due to some complications during child birth.

“I was only expecting to deliver one baby when the right time come since I was only seven months pregnant, I have been visiting a local clinic at home where they recommended me to go for scanning to establish the status of my pregnancy but we did not have any money since my husband and I are casual labourers who survive on menial jobs to sustain our family,” Akinyi told a local media outlet in an interview.
