Kakamega Homeboyz have dismissed Ugandan winger George Mandela for alleged match fixing.
The club’s president Cleophas Shimanyula has made it known the player will never feature for the club ever again.
Mandela alongside Ugandan coach Paul Nkata were at the center of alleged match fixing scandal which recently rocked the Kenyan Premier League side.
According to Shimanyula, Nkata, who ran away from the club following the much publicized claims, paid certain players to deliberately lose matches.
Mandela who has also been missing is said to have fled to Uganda and Shimanyula now says the player will never feature for the club.
“That’s a criminal, he will never play for this team and I don’t think any club here in Kenya and outside will be willing to sign a player with such a tainted reputation. He’s a criminal and deserves to be behind the bars,” Shimanyula told Sports Fan Magazine.
Mandela, the 2015 Kenyan Premier League young player of the year is said to have been the link between coach Nkata and the players who engaged in the vice in the team.
He’s said to have been Nkata’s errand boy delivering the cash and messages from the tactician.
