Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are eying the signature of highly talented Gor Mahia’s Ugandan left full back Godfrey Walusimbi, Kahawa Tungu can reveal.
The 29-year-old, who can also play as a winger, renewed his stay with K’Ogalo early this year but a clause in his contract allows him to pursue greener pastures with the club’s blessings.
Walusimbi was a no show on Friday in Kisumu as K’Ogalo edged out Posta Rangers 2-1 to open a 14-point gap at the top of the Kenyan Premier League log.
In his absence Innocent Wafula successfully covered the defensive position.

The former Don Bosco man has been a mainstay for the 16-times KPL champions and has been at the center of the 1987 CAF Winners’ Cup champions’ renascence since joining in 2014 under former Ugandan Scottish gaffer Bobby Williamson.
Gor are currently playing in the CAF Confederation Cup are topping their group with only two rounds left to the quarterfinals.
If the deal happens then the coach Dylan Kerr’s side will have to shop for a replacement with former Tusker FC left back Shafik Batambuze topping their list.
The Ugandan is currently playing in the Tanzanian Premier League with Singida United.
