A section of Jubilee MPs and farmers want Deputy President William Ruto investigated over the maize scandal.
Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) — on Saturday demanded that the DP be probed for the maize and fertiliser scandals that have rocked the country in the recent past.
“What we know is that these problems are because of the DP and his office. We want the DP probed because we have heard that he has been calling NCPB officials instructing them on who should be paid,” Mr Keter
The meeting held at TAC Centre in Eldoret was also attended by former MPs Jesse Mais (Eldoret South) and Luka Chepkitony (Keiyo North).
Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri has been on the spot for paying cartels in who have supplied maize worth millions, and ignoring small scale farmers.
He has severally been cautioned by the President against making payments to traders and brokers thus leaving no money for farmers who supplied the maize.
However, the MPs saying that Kiunjuri has been complaining of ‘powerful’ people forcing him to pay cartels, which they allude to Ruto.
