Uhuru Kenyatta will on Saturday be nominated by the Jubilee party as its presidential flag bearer in the August 8 polls.
“The national delegates convention shall be convened on May 6 at the Bomas of Kenya,” party secretary, Raphael Tuju said.
All the 19 interim party officials from every county,as well as sitting governors, MPs, Senators, Woman reps and MCAs will be present for the announcement at Bomas. Members of the National Governing Council and newly nominated aspirants in the just concluded primaries will also be present.
The officials are expected to rally the delegates behind their campaign against NASA leader Raila Odinga ahead of the general elections.
ODM, is set to unveil the NASA principal formally as its presidential flag bearer today.
The Orange party’s National Delegates’ Convention to be held at the Kasarani Gymnasium will bring together delegates from all the 47 counties as its ivory towers put finishing touches on what has been crafted as “an unstoppable Brand Raila”.
Uhuru will face off with Raila Odinga for the second time as he seeks a second and final term. Uhuru beat Raila in the 2013 election and promises to beat him once more in the upcoming August 8 poll.
Raila who has run for presidency, four times, unsuccessfully, hopes to bag it this time around under NASA.
