A Jubilee campaign car was hijacked by the Al Shabaab militants on Saturday in Mandera.
The incident forced negotiations with the area Somalia elders.
Charles Chacha, Mandera South OCPD said the driver was heading to Bore Hole 11 town. He had just dropped off the party supporters at Falama.
The terrorists are said to have stopped the car and ordered the four occupants out of the car.
“The men got out of the car and the militia sped off with the vehicle,” Chacha said.

According to Mr Chacha the matter has been handed over to the military in Somalia. Negotiations are still ongoing as they question the four passengers.
In a video released on Sunday, the extremist group addressed Kenya’s upcoming elections and have threatened to hit back at Kenya for sending its troops to Somalia and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s new plan to eliminate them.
“Your military’s invasion of Somalia will continue to destabilize your country,” the new al-Shabaab video says. “When we do strike, your government will not be able to protect you.”
