Key suspect in the murder of 28 year old businesswoman Monica Kimani, Joseph Irungu alias Jowie has been admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
Jowie, Kahawa Tungu understands, was admitted at the referral hospital on Monday and is set to undergo an operation on his left shoulder. He is said to have shot himself on the night when he allegedly killed Ms Kimani.
The suspect has been remanded at the Industrial Area Prison after Justice James Wakiaga denied him bail on grounds that he is a flight risk and poses a threat to witnesses.
Justice Wakiaga also referred to the then Dubai based security guard as a “Slay King” or a woman eater, in other words.
Jowie was spotted at KNH in his prison uniform and crocs. He appears as one “deep in thought.”

His case, alongside his fiancee and Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe will be mentioned on November 27, 2018 and the trial between June 18 -June 27, 2019.
The journo was released on bail after spending more a month at the Langa’ata Women’s Prison.
