Journalists have been blocked from covering the interviews for the Director of Public prosecutions. The interviews are currently on going at the parliament buildings
The post fell vacant after resignation of Keriako Tobikao who was later appointed as CS environment.

Ten candidates were shortlisted for the position, They include former commissioner of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Thomas Letangule, lawyer Lucy Kambuni, National Intelligence Service Senior Director Noordin Haji, Machakos Chief Magistrate Abdulkadir Ramadhan, Patrick Gumo and three deputy DPPs – Dorcas Oduor, Jacob Ondari and Nicholas Mutuku
Three candidates will then be shortlisted and sent to the president to appoint one.
The reason as to why journalists were not allowed to cover this interviews is still unclear.
