Life after football is more often than not challenging for players especially those who don’t plan for it.
However for former AFC Leopards defender Jonas Nahimana, the transition looks smooth.
The Rwandan has opted to pursue his other talent two years post hanging his boots by taking music as a full time career.
“For those who know me from where I grew up are not surprised to see me doing music,” Nahimana said.
Nicknamed “Paco” by the adoring Leopards fans, Nahimana plied his trade in the Kenyan Premier League for Sofapaka, Sony Sugar and Leopards.
Paco was a cog in Leopards’ famous 23-match run in the league in 2012 before Tusker brought it to a screeching halt in Mombasa.
His footballing journey took him to Vietnam before he settled in Illinois in the US where he ventured into music full time.
“I have been singing since I was a little boy, at some point I was singing in church at Sofapaka.
I have been working on my songs and now people are discovering my other side as an artist. Some people doubt. I am hoping to make a career out of this,” he added.
