Zesco United beat and relegated Nchanga Rangers 4-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola Wednesday to win the 2018 Zambian Super League on the bounce.
Kenya’s Harambee Stars international Jesse Were was once again on the mark, netting the third goal from the spot to take his tally to 18 goals as the golden boot race hots up.
Mwepe Mwelwa, Solomon Sakala and Marcel Kalonda were also on the score-sheet for “Zega Mambo.”
Were, who is in his third season with the Ndola-based outfit, is just one goal behind leading top scorer Idris Mbombo.
Congolese forward Mbombo failed to score for Nkana FC in their 1-0 win against Eagles, allowing Jesse to narrow the gap in the race for the top scorer’s honor to just one goal with two matches to go.

Harambee Stars assistant captain David Owino, who also plays for Zesco, remains the most decorated Kenyan in the Zambian top flight with three titles.
Jesse and midfielder Anthony Akumu will be grabbing their second medals this season.
Both joined Zesco in 2016 one year after Owino had signed for the seven-time Zambian champions.
