Joe Irungu’s alleged accomplice, Jennings Orlando, who was linked to the murder of 28 year old Monica Kimani has been released from police custody.
Appearing before Kiambu Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo, Jennings was released after the inspecting officer dropped the application for him to continue being held.
Jennings had stayed in police custody for 14 days pending investigations.
Reports indicate that Mr Jennings initially denied knowing anything about the murder of the 28 year old businesswoman but later changed his stance.
The prosecution told the court that Jennings could turn into a state witness, joining Maribe’s neighbor Brian Kassaine as witness.
Magistrate Stella Atambo ordered Jennings to report to the DCI offices every Wednesday until the next hearing on January 7, 2019.
Jennings was arrested on October 19, after being identified as the man seen on CCTV in the passenger seat with first suspect, Joe Irungu, on the fateful night.
The second suspect, Jacque Maribe, was released on KSh 2 million bond on Wednesday.
