India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has indicated that it will be opening an overseas office in Nairobi in the next two weeks.
The party is also planning to launch offices in other East African countries like Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Zambia. This comes after the recent opening of offices in Canada, Denmark, and Uganda.
“We have a very good structure and we are now appointing coordinators in each major town in Kenya to work for the overseas office of BJP,” Vimal Chadha, president of the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) in Kenya, quoted by IBN Live.
There is a big Indian community in various African country. Kenya host many of them so the move by the ruling party is not surprising.
The BJP currently has offices in 32 countries in Africa, Europe, the US and other parts of the world.
