Nairobi Governor Sonko has said that he is not affected by his deputy’s resignation Polycarp Igathe saying that he would rather work with other elected leaders to ensure service delivery.
“His resignation is a non-issue to me. I did not fire him, he decided to exit. We have other elected leaders – the MCAs and I’d urge Nairobi residents to have faith in us, even as we promise efficient service delivery. That is our prime focus,” he said.
Governor Mike Sonko was speaking at the Ruiru Rainbow Resort where the governors are holding a three day workshop.

He said that it was imperative that the county has policies that can fix the problems that Nairobians have.
“We were just focusing on development and delivering services to the people of Nairobi. What Nairobians want is for us to fix roads, drainage systems and collect waste within our wards among other services, it is only through working together and implementing the ward development fund that we can realize this,” The governor said
Polycarp Igathe resigned last week on Friday after saying that he was unable to earn the trust of his boss the governor.
