Education Cabinet Secretary Nominee George Magoha has announced the introduction of a computerized accounting system that will track funds released from his ministry.
Speaking from the ministry’s headquarters, Magoha noted that the system will be installed when he officially moves to Jogoo House.
He noted that it would track every penny that is released from the ministry to ensure that it is put into good use.
The former University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor commented: “I am not Jesus Christ, I will give the strategy but we need to work together.”
He further called on the ministry’s stakeholders to support him in streamlining education.
Magoha also asked head teachers to stop delegating all their responsibilities for the new curriculum to be successful.

“Once you delegate responsibilities completely, you will lose control,” he asserted.
Affirming that the new curriculum is good, Magoha stated that it will help identify and develop children’s other abilities at a young age.
He further appealed to the Ministry of Interior to fast-track the issuance of birth certificates especially for KCPE and KCSE candidates for them to register for the national examinations.
Magoha was vetted last week by Parliament and is awaiting their approval.
