How Buru Buru OCPD Mistreated the Family of Police Officer Suffering from PTSD

Geoffrey Mayek

Buru Buru OCPD Geoffrey Mayek is a man on the spot after he sent two ruthless police officers to evict the wife of a sick officer from the Buru Buru police lines.

A video which has since gone viral shows Lilian Odawo, wife of Charles Ochieng Odawo,  being evicted from the Buru Buru police lines after her husband became sick that he has not been working for sometime.

Charles Odawo is admitted at Mathare Psychiatric Hospital suffering from what doctors at the facility call Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) which he developed from his previous assignments in Isiolo and Wajir.

Colleagues of Charles Odawo have revealed that the police officer became ill after complaining to them that he was not feeling well after witnessing the gruesome murder of his colleagues who were also based in North Eastern region.

Realising that her husband was not getting better and she needed to get clarification from the police service, Lilian Adawo went to the police headquarters (Vigilance House) in February and received a letter from officer Sammy Makokha confirming that her husband was a police officer with health issues. The letter requested Buru Buru OCPD to offer the spouse of officer necessary assistance.

Lilian Odawo personally presented the letter to Buru Buru OCPD Geoffrey Mayek who tore the letter in front of her and demanded that she exit his office.

Early this month (April 2018), Buru Buru OCPD started using Sergeant Faith Muchemi, daughter to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Terry Muchemi, to illegally evict the woman from the one roomed house in Buru Buru.

It remains to be seen what the police headquarters will do to remedy the already injured image.
