House Committee on Appointments has confirmed Prof George Magoha’s appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Education.
The report will be tabled for debate on Tuesday.
When he appeared before the 28-member committee led by Speaker Justin Muturi, Magoha said he was best placed to steer the operations of the Education ministry owing to his vast experience of being a performer who gets things done.
Magoha succeeds Amina Mohammed who was moved to the Sports docket after President Uhuru Kenyatta fired CS Rashid Echesa.

While in Murang’a, the former University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, also pledged economical use of funds allocated to the ministry.
He also mentioned that under his leadership, the ministry will establish a computerized system to monitor how funds are used.
