Residents of Rangwe in Homabay County pulled a rather uncanny move when they disrupted a public participation meeting demanding that they be paid Sh1000 each first.
The residents claimed the leaders including the area Governor in the months before the August election were dishing out money in public forums and demanded that the set precedence be maintained.
The Public forum was for the residents to give their views on how the County can generate revenue from the area this financial year.

One resident expressed his displeasure with the County government claiming while they sought ways of generating revenue, the services offered to the people remained wanting.
“They collect taxes here at Rangwe market every day while garbage is all over. Why can’t they use the taxes to better services,” he said.
Irked by the events, the Assembly Finance Committee chairman Godfrey Onyango said the residents having disrupted that meeting will not get a chance to express their views again.
