Thieves are said to have colluded with watchmen of high end estates of Nairobi to rob unsuspecting tenants who are away on holiday.
The thieves, police say, pretend they are visiting people within the the estate.
Such incidents have been reported to the police during this festive season. The thieves are allegedly colluding with guards within the area who seem to know the residents who are in and those who have traveled.

One such incident was reported in Kileleshwa where police arrested four thieves who were breaking into one of the apartments. Upon searching one of the arrested robbers residence they found numerous bank cards and electronics that had been stolen.
The car they were arrested with also had a fake registration number, around 120 sets of keys and other equipment that is usually used for break ins.
The police have advised residents who are traveling to contact the local OCS who will schedule patrols within those areas. The police have also asked the residents to be vigilant during this festive season as the robbers are usually armed.
