Turkish Cypriot Hassan Oktay has been appointed as the new coach of Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia on a two-year deal.
Oktay, who arrived in the country last week inked the deal today (Monday) as confirmed by the club’s president Ambrose Rachier.
He will be deputised by Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno, who took care of the team on an interim basis following the exit of Dylan Kerr.
“We have appointed Hassan Oktay to be the head coach of the team and that means he will replace Dylan Kerr and will be assisted by Zedekiah Otieno.

The coach has signed a two year contract which will be renewable,” Rachier told the club’s official website.
Oktay already oversaw two games; against Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets in the Champions League, managing to scrap through on penalties and against Bandari, which they faced in a 2-1 loss in the KPL over the weekend.
His quest for maiden win will take him to Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos where they will face Zoo FC in a league match Wednesday.
He will then lead the team against Lobi Stars of Nigeria for a spot in the Champions League group stage on Sunday.
