Harambee Stars coach is displeased with his captain Victor Wanyama for failing to show up for Saturday’s crunch Afcon 2019 qualifier against Black Stars of Ghana in Nairobi.
Wanyama, who is just returning from a nagging knee injury was among 38 players summoned for the tie but the 27-year-old did not heed the national call.
According to unofficial report, the Tottenham midfielder, who is yet to feature in the Premier League this season was advised by the club’s doctors to stick behind and continue with his recovery.
Migne, however, feels the player should have acted professionally and showed up so that the national team’s medical team could also assess him.
“Wanyama should have traveled to Kenya so that our medical staff can assess his injury.
We should be a bit professional in such situations. Even Hugo Lloris is injured but he reported to the French camp. We should change such attitudes going forward,” the Frenchman told Goal.
