Popularly known as “Pemblepe,” Siaya Governor Cornell Rasanga is a man never short of humor.
When his political nemesis Nicholas Gumbo mounted a spirited campaign against him for the ODM ticket, Rasanga composed a song that was like a dirge which he performed in front of Raila titled, ‘baba jogi chanda’ loosely translated as ‘father, this people are disturbing me.’
In a court petition against his election as governor, Rasanga turned the court into a comic hall when he refused to restrict his answers to yes or no as instructed by lawyers.
“Even a slaughtered chicken quacks, why am I being restricted from expressing myself?” he told the court.

He told the court during the petition hearing that Gumbo had a following that was “only interested in his money and lesos,” adding that the former Rarieda MP sent Oburu Odinga a message where he insulted Rasanga calling him a thief and skunk.
Rasanga further rubbished claims that the six piece gospel bu ODM disadvantaged Gumbo and favored him saying the former MP was a beneficiary of the same slogan in 2013.
