Four guards are said to have beaten up David Kamau on January 7 at 3am. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
Confirming the incident was Mombasa County Police Commander, Johnstone Ipara who said that in custody were two guards while two others remain at large.
”A report was made at the police station of a man who had been assaulted by four security guards and two suspects have been arrested,” Ipara said.
The guards will be arraigned in court today (Friday).
The deceased’s wife, Grace Ndung’u says she received a call informing her that her husband had been involved in an accident and was admitted at Jocham Hospital.
”I was told that my husband had had an accident and was asked if I could make it to the hospital in 20 minutes,” Ms Ndung’u.
”On arrival I saw my husband’s car and there was no sign that it had been involved in an accident.
My husband could not speak and found him being stitched up. He was in pain,” she recounted.
The deceased was transferred to Aga Khan hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He died on January 14.
