Gor Mahia Players Still Stranded In Nairobi Ahead Of Return Match Against RS Berkane In Morocco

A second batch of about 12 Gor Mahia players are yet to leave the country ahead of their Caf Confederation Cup quarter-finals return match against RS Berkane of Morocco on Sunday.

The players were to depart the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 8.30pm on Friday but one hour after boarding the plane which was to connect to Morocco via the DRC, all passengers disembarked for what was feared to be a technical problem.

Gor Mahia’s only remaining option is an Air France flight at 9.00pm on Saturday morning but only five seats are available.

The first batch of players left the country at 5.00pm.

The team’s shambolic travel plan was occasioned by delays in securing tickets from the government.
