Gor Mahia come from behind twice to draw Lydia Ludic of Burundi 2-2 in the ongoing Cecafa Kagame Cup match played at Chamazi Complex, Dar Es Salaam Tuesday.

Gor, who settled for a similar score line against Burundi’s Rayon Sports in their opening Group B match Sunday, were the favorites heading into today’s match.

But Burundian minnows were the first to take the lead in the 2nd minute through Francis Kitende, who capitalized on Francis Kahata’s lazy back pass to fire past Gor’s keeper Shaban Odhoji.

K’Ogalo responded well three minutes later through midfielder Philemon Otieno, who equalized from cross range off Ivorian Ephrem Guikan’s cut back.

The match ended 1-1 at the breather as Lydia held on well at the back to keep at bay marauding Gor’s forward-line consisting Rwandan international Jacques Tuyisenge.

Gor kept the pressure in the second stanza but it was the Burundians, who restored their lead through Daniel, who unleashed a furious shot from the left past hapless Odhoji.

Feeling rattled Gor’s English coach Dylan Kerr introduced Benard Ondiek, Samuel Onyango and new signing Francis Mustafa for Kahata, Guikan and Innocent Wafula.

Lydia resorted to time wasting as the clock ticked away but K’Ogalo were relentless and in the 95th minute were rewarded with a penalty which Tuyisenge slotted home to tie the game.

The Kenyan champions have been dogged by off the field issues that seem to be taking a toll on their performance.

Before traveling to Tanzania, the team staged a sit in demanding their allowances.

In Dar, they rejected a hotel they had been offered by the organizers of the regional tournament terming it substandard.

“That’s not my team. You should go ask then in the dressing room. My team plays good football. I felt like a funeral,” Kerr said after the game.

Gor will play their last group match against Djibouti’s AS Ports with a huge chance of progressing to the quarterfinals.
