Suspended NHIF chief executive Geoffrey Mwangi has been arrested again.
Mwangi who was sent on compulsory leave by the insurer’s board, was apprehended on Sunday by DCI officers over a Ksh1.1 billion contract for provision of the integrated revenue collection services.
According to DCI George Kinoti, at least 30 sleuths were on Saturday deployed and are on the look out for 17 NHIF officials whose phones have remained switched off from Friday.
The officials, the DCI told Citizen TV, are implicated in the billion shilling scandal.
Mwangi was released by Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi on Sh500,000 cash bail alongside Chief Finance Director Wilbert Kurgat.
