Football can be very emotional and pressure filled at times and under such circumstances a player can do silly things especially in the heat of the moment.
For Orlando Pirates player Thamsanqa Gabuza, it was one of those days to forget for any player, a very bad day in office in a league tie against Black Leopards on Tuesday night.
After missing up-to three clear cut opportunities to put the South African giants ahead, Gabuza assisted a beautiful own goal with an inviting left cross that was intended to be a back pass or something close.
But what he did after was simply crazy and unthinkable! His Serbian coach Micho in his post-match comments said he had never encountered such in his 25-year coaching career.
The player removed his shirt, rolled it and threw it at fans and walked off the field without permission and back into the dressing room, leaving everybody stunned!

Micho’s efforts to get him back to his senses fell on deaf ears as he threw his hands into the air as he rushed through the tunnel like a charged rhino, he was simply unstoppable.
The disgusted fans didn’t want to keep the “defiled” jersey and gladly returned it back to the sender.
Gabuza would re-emerge from the locker room to two yellow cards from the ref, one for removing his shirt and the other for storming out of the field without permission.
Despite playing the better part of the game with ten men following the bizarre incident, Pirates managed to emerge with 2-1 victory.
Micho nonetheless rallied support for Gabuza, who his reportedly emotionally disturbed: “But more support from the spiritual owners should be welcome.”
