The former President, in the capacity of UNESCO Special Envoy for water in Africa urges leaders and the public in general to cultivate strategies that will ensure that our water shafts are protected and the already existing founded solutions are put into use.

Through his post in the Daily Nation, the former president urges that time and resources is dedicated in recharging aquifers, protecting water towers, harvesting rain and storm water and finding out ways of making the cost of desalination of seawater more affordable. This message is aimed towards all African countries especially after Capetown, South Africa has faced a water crisis for the longest period now due to drought.
