    Five Arrested For Throwing Grenades To Police Officers On Thika Road

    Police in Nairobi have arrested five people who threw live grenades to police officers on Monday evening aong Thika Road.

    The five are reported to have thrown the grenades as the officers trailed them on Thika Road, Nairobi.

    According to a police report, the five suspects were in a gang of nine that was spotted riding at high speed on three motor cycles near Mathare 29/30 terminus.

    On spotting them, police who were patrolling the area, pursued them as they escaped to Mathare North and shortly after intercepted the motor cycles at Drive-In stage on Thika Road.

    It’s at that point that one suspect threw a grenade to the officers.

    “One of them threw a hand grenade at the officers and ran towards Mathare direction,” reads part of the police report.

    No casualties were reported during the incident.
