FIFA has suspended Sierra Football Association (SLFA) from international football community “until further notice.”
The decision was taken by the Bureau of the FIFA Council Friday and communicated to all members of the world football body.
Sierra Leone national teams and clubs will therefore not part in any international competitions until the ban is lifted.
The senior men’s national team was gearing up for next week’s 2019 Afcon qualifiers double header against Ghana, the match now stands cancelled.
The team had lost their last qualifier 1-0 away to Ethiopia last month.
Previously they had beaten Kenya 2-1 in the same campaign.
All the results now stands cancelled.
FIFA had severally warned against government interference in the management of the association.
Sierra Leone anti corruption body recently raided the SLFA premises in Freetown as they demanded for madam president Isha Johansen and Secretary General Chris Camara to step down over graft charges.
This did not go down well with the Zurich based organization who demanded explanation over the incident before they could take action.
