The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) has been captured by the HR Director Julius Olayo, who has been acting as he wills, even in contravention of the law.
Kahawa Tungu‘s investigative desk has discovered that in the June recruitment at the authority, one Mr Julius Olayo recruited members of his family, and if not so close friends.
Sources within the organisation reveal that since his reporting to Nita in 2014, Olayo has set up a rigged system and captured the authority in its recruitment processes so that in any recruitment, Mr Olayo and his friends’ preferred candidates only succeed to be employed in Nita.
The rigged recruitment system is composed of himself, his trusted HRO and relative Eric Owino and some board members.
In the last recruitment of June, 2018, Eric Owino who was leaving the organisation at the end of June was solely in charge. He sorted out the applications, made the initial shortlist, and participated in the actual interviews beyond his last day at NITA.
“Mr Olayo does NOT trust employees from other tribes to work in his office,” says our source.
The results of the recent recruitment where about 30 successful candidates are friends, relatives, associates and family members of this cartel goes to confirm this fact.
Frida Muthoni (HR Assistant) is Olayo’s sister in-law, Calvin Odongo (Artisan Kisumu) on the other hand is Olayo’s cousin while Sally Ojwang (Hr Assistant) is Eric Owino’s girlfriend and wife to be.
Isaac mango (Artisan) is also Olayo’s relative while Collins Owino is Eric Owino’s brother who was illegitimately promoted and transferred to trade test to take charge since the individual currently in charge is retiring soon (malicious succession planning and a scheme to conceal the massive fraud of Trade Test Fees).
Another one, Peter Odhiambo, Eric Owino’s brother was confirmed and made in charge of payroll (following the unexplained redeployment of George Eyinda). Nicholas Ochieng, Alfred Jamal and Brian Odhiambo (Accountant NITA Kisumu) are brothers and Mr Olayo’s nephews.
Dan Jerenga (Admin) and Bernard Odhiambo Ombete (Olayo’s personal driver) are Olayo’s immediate relatives and all came from Kenya Forest Service.
Others are Karoli Otieno, Elisha Obinda, Collins Omollo, Beatrice Omala among many others serving on contract terms (discreetly recruited and hidden in NITA Centres and Levy offices- away from the headquarters) as they wait to take up upcoming jobs with ease.
This has been the system since Olayo’s joining of NITA in November, 2014. He has mastered the art of deception and trickery in his actions.
The recruitment system at NITA is fraudulent and run by a cartel to benefit family members, relatives and social associates.
All these therefore go to confirm his abuse of office, nepotism, primitive HR practice, discrimination and unprofessionalism.
