Expired Rice Impounded In Kariobangi During Police Raid

Police have impounded expired rice in Kariobangi from Kimende stores. The rice which had earlier been packaged as ‘Amar’ and ‘Day to Day’ was repackaged to ‘Red Rose’ and ‘Peacock Parboil Five Star’.

The rice was discovered after an impromptu search by the polce at a godown that operates as Kimende stores.

The DCI detectives found several suspects repackaging the rice into new bags bearing expiry dates from June 2019 to 2021.
