Former National Land Commission Chairman Muhammad Swazuri has been released on a cash bail of Sh 12 million with a bond option of Sh 30 million.
The bail however varies for each of his co accused persons depending on the number of counts that each has.
Former National Lands Commission (NLC) Muhammad Swazuri will alongside 10 others spend the Easter weekend in custody pending bond hearing on Tuesday.
Swazuri was apprehended on Wednesday by EACC detectives over the irregular compensation for a parcel of land in Mombasa to construct the Southern Bypass and the Kipevu Terminal link road.
NLC paid a sum of Sh109 million to Tornado Carriers Limited and C.W Chege and Co. Advocates.
In a statement, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji ordered their arrest and charges against them including conspiracy to commit and economic crime, abuse of office and financial misconduct.

Haji also wanted them charged with unlawful acquisition of public property, fraudulent acquisition, dealing with suspect property and money laundering.
State prosecutor on Thursday asked the court to deny the suspects bail.
