The European Union (EU) observer mission has accused the Kenyan government of refusing to cooperate with them to present their election report on the October 26 elections.
The head of delegation Marietje Schaake said that she was forced to read the report at the EU parliament as required by the guidelines of the EU observer missions.

In her report she noted that there was an a alarming lack pf trust between the IEBC and the opposition and other stakeholders.
She however praised the IEBC as she said that the made ardent efforts to ensure that the election was transparent,but setting up good structures.
The EU observers also noted intimidation of Independent institutions such as the IEBC and Judiciary by politicians from both the government and the opposition.
Marietje Schaake called on Kenyans to push for electoral reforms, Institutional resilience inclusive legal reforms improved ICT arrangements and IEBC oversight.
She also recommended for the review of electoral systems to promote women participation and inclusivity.
However Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union Johnson Weru has called out the observer mission of releasing the 2017 report saying that they had contravened the agreement signed between the union and the government.
