Kenya Premier League top scorer Elvis “Machapo” Rupia has signed for Zambian Super League side Power Dynamos from Nzoia Sugar FC on a “long term” contract.
He becomes the tenth Kenyan player to enter Zambia’s topflight after Musa Mohammed, a defender, who was recently unveiled at Powers’ arch rivals Nkana FC.
The deal is reportedly worth Kshs1.5 million.
Rupia, formerly of Nakuru All Stars in the National Super League, had a superb season in the KPL, banging in 15 goals in 23 games.

His departure throws wide open the golden boot race with Gor Mahia’s Jacques Tuyisenge and Zoo’s Nicholas Kipkirui on 11 goals apiece angling for the gong.
Machapo has his work cut out for him in the rapidly growing Zambian league as he will be expected to fire Power, who are currently 7th on the log, 16 points off leaders Zesco United, to a respectable finish in the league.
