Dr Mukhisa Kituyi Confirmed by UN General Assembly for a Further Four Years at UNCTAD

Dr Mukhisa Kituyi has been confirmed by the UN General Assembly for a further 4 years as the Secretary General of the UN Trade and Development body UNCTAD.

The former Trade Minister who is the seventh Secretary General of the global body will start his second term in September 2017 and end the same in August 2021.

Dr Mukhisa Kituyi served as MP for 15 years and Trade and Industry Minister from 2002 to 2007. He was the former CEO of Kenya Institute of Governance and a fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington.
