Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) through its Twitter handle has revealed that it is prosecuting PS at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries over allegations of irregular purchase of maize.
The PS will be facing allegations of irregular and fraudulent purchase of maize during the last dry season. The period so suspicious vessels hang around Mombasa port as the PS issued maize shortage alert which led to the vessels docking without much problems.

At some point, Kenyans questioned why the vessels arrived from Brazil so fast, sometimes in a record two days. The public has believed that the maize shortage alert and claims of importing the same from Brazil was just meant to benefit senior government officials.

Dr. Lesiyampe becomes the latest senior government official to face the hammer in the anti-corruption crackdown which has seen even Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu arrested and charged in court. She however blocked proceedings against her.
PR Dr Lesiyampe will be arraigned in court today after being processed by the police.

Dr Richard Lesiyampe was previously the CEO of KNH where he is credited with bringing a semblance of order.
