The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Ndegwa Muhoro to probe six Safaricom staffers and Jubilee Party’s chief agent, Davis Chirchir for allegedly having a handing in the bungled August 8 presidential election.
Tobiko asked the DCI to submit his findings within 21 days.
Mr Muhoro will with the help of six prosecutors conduct ‘thorough, comprehensive and expeditious’ investigations.
He had directed that the Kura Yangu Sauti Yangu lobby group and NASA await the detailed Supreme Court judgement before prosecuting the said persons.

Led by Raila Odinga, NASA had threatened to institute private prosecutions against the telco firm staffers should the DPP not take action.
On the other hand, Jubilee had also written to the DPP asking him to prosecute Siaya Senator James Orengo and Musalia Mudavadi for having in their possession information illegally acquired from the IEBC servers.
