A boy suffering from a spinal cord defect was flown to Nairobi on Tuesday evening in a helicopter sent by Deputy President William Ruto.
Dr Ruto deployed his aide Emmanuel Talam to airlift the mother and son to Aga Khan Hospital.
Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso was also among the team that brought Kipng’etich to Nairobi.
Posting on her social media, the governor noted: “Accompanied Ian Kipkoech, who is proceeding for specialized treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi this afternoon.
“Thank you Your Excellency the DP Dr William Samoei Ruto for keeping the promise you made during the launch of Bomet County Universal Coverage last Saturday, February 16, 2019 to cater for the boy’s medical bills,” she added.

The pre-unit pupil, Ian Kipkoech, will now get specialized treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital, with all the requirements being covered by the Deputy President.
Kipng’etich caught Ruto’s attention during a past event when he recited a poem.
The DP then had a conversation with the boy’s mother, Yvonne Chelegat, who then explained her son’s birth defect.
