Marie Stopes has been banned by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board from conducting abortions in Kenya.
The board further advised the health service provider against publishing misleading information on its website.
The facility has also been directed to submit, within 60 days, a report of the reviewed guidelines “to conform with the law.”
Led by Daniel Yumbya, the board further directed that the hospital submits weekly returns to the regulator over the next 60 days.
Marie Stopes was also blocked from running advertisements that contravene Public Health Facilities Advertising Rules, 2016.
But a section of Kenyans, both men and women are dissatisfied with the board’s directives with some threatening to take to the streets.
