Deputy President William Ruto leads Auction of Chicken In Kambi Kuku

The Deputy President William Ruto was in Kambi Kuku, Turbo Constituency this morning, a place where he used to sell chicken before joining politics, to promote poultry farming.

He led an auction of about 5000 chicken in an activity that raised about 6 million shillings, in a bid to promote the farming activity in the area.

He was in the company of Elgeyo Marakwet Senetor, Kipchumba Murkomen, Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, MPs Oscar Sudi, Rigathi Gachagua, Caleb Kositany, Janet Sitienei  and Gideon Keter.

The DP encouraged small scale businesses, to tap into modern rearing methods such as quality feeds, construction of permanent brooder pens, improved storage facilities and value addition in order to grow their business.

He encouraged businessmen to join resources and cooperative societies that will  enable them access credit to produce on a large scale and help the country achieve food security.
