
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched an investigation against the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) after a State Counsel was arrested by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) at Taita Taveta Law Courts for receiving 30,000 shillings as bribe.

EACC officers arrested State Counsel, Donald Ochieng on Wednesday for demanding bribe in order to influence a defilement case that he was working on. He promised the client that he would talk to the magistrate working on the case so he can give him a convenient ruling.
The arrest was confirmed by the Regional EACC boss George Ojowi who said that they were awaiting for the DPP’s direction before charging the suspect.

The Director of Public Prosecution, Noordin Haji has acknowledged that his office is under investigations for possible financial improprieties and promised that they would take necessary legal action once investigations were completed.
The DPP further wishes to inform the public that the @DCI_Kenya is currently conducting investigations at the @ODPP_KE in relation to financial impropriety.
