Former Presidential Candidate Cyrus Jirongo is claiming that Nairobi County government has refused to pay him 250 million shillings that the court had ordered he be paid in a July 28, 2016 decree for land; LR No.209/11887 and 58301.

The politician claims that the County government is delaying in making the payment of his lawful dues.

The money is supposed to be the compensation for the land that was allegedly allocated to a third party 10 years ago by the defunct Nairobi City Council, forcing him to go to court.

Last year, Commercial Court judge Olga Sewe ruled that Jirongo was bankrupt and ordered that his estate be put under receivership. Mr Jirongo appealed this ruling and was consequently allowed to run for presidency.

According to Jirongo, the National Land Commission and the Attorney General’s office confirmed that he is the actual owner of the disputed land but the county government has still delayed despite the numerous times he has visited the office.

The suit was made by Kuza Farm & Allied Limited which allegedly belongs to Mr Jirongo.
