Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is under scrutiny after failing to reply to a petition filed at the Employment and Labour Relations Court by a former employee.
Former security worker Daizy Cherogony is suing the KAA after sacking her from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
According to reports, Cherogony was sacked after ‘mistreating’ Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

As a result the State body has been given up to September 29 to file its response as ordered by Justice Byram Ongaya of the Labour court in Nyeri.
Cherogony’s lawyer Alex Bismana added that KAA has not brought forward any proposal for a settlement.
The lawyer says Cherogony was sacked after she asked CS Matiang’i to wait in line for a security check.
The former security worker is seeking Sh41 million for wrongful dismissal.
“KAA breached its regulations in civil aviation which is set in its operation manuals,” said Bismana.
Cherogony has also asked the court to rule that subjecting the CS to a security screening does not qualify as gross misconduct as it is part of normal policy.
