Odinga called for demonstrations countrywide on Mondays and Fridays up until the officials resign.
In Kondele, protesters are said to have thrown stones at the police who have dispersed the growing crowd with teargas.
The officers are said to have at some point run out of teargas and were forced to retreat.
There will be demos in Nairobi, led by Odinga and his co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka. Security is tight in the CBD as the Nairobi Business Community and the NASA supporters are set to clash.
He accused the government of using the police to intimidate Kenyans and leaders as is in the case of Embakasi East Mp, Babu Owino.
