Coast LeadersMembers of the NASA coalition from coast province have protested the list submitted by NASA for house leadership.

The leaders cited discrimination saying that the nominees had come from one region.

The coast leader took an issue with the position of leader of minority  Suba East MP, John Mbadi and the chief whip Suna East MP, Junnet Mohamed were from the same region.

In October the leaders had also raised the same issues and even wrote a letter to the speaker who rejected the list. The coast leaders said that the number of votes they pulled for the coalition were not to be treated in vain and that they should also be considered for such positions.

The coast MPs have asked that the list that was tabled in parliament be withdrawn claiming it had not been agreed upon during parliamentary groups within the coalition.

The leaders who were led by Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori said that the list should be regionally balanced as well as gender sensitive.

The list was tabled before parliament and was awaiting  speaker Justin Muturi’s approval.
