Senator James Orengo has revealed that the NASA coalition agreement was customized to positions after they had won the election and not as an opposition
He said that the agreement stated that the seats in parliament would be based on performance and not on being in the coalition. He said that the agreement was focused on winning an election and not on being in the opposition.
James Orengo also said that the removal of Moses Wetangula was a result of the senators feeling that he was serving a dual role of being in the summit and being the senate minority leader which they felt was too much.
Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi have asked James Orengo to decline the position, The position is also shared by NASA CEO Norman Magaya who insisted that Wetangula was still the choice of the coalition for the position.
There seems to be a serious disconnect within the NASA coalition ever since the Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta handshake as people from various scopes have tried to interpret and find out the discussions that were held between the two and what it would mean for the people in the political sphere.
So far there has been goodwill from NASA and the government on the issues that they had stood by, the government has dropped cases of Jimmy Wanjigi and also reinstated the passports of NASA leaders. NASA has in turn suspended the activities of the people’s assembly.
