Kenyan clinical officers have signed a return to work deal with CS Cleopas Mailu that will see the conclusion of the 25 day long strike.
The workers were on strike as they had rejected the structure by the salaries and remuneration commission that prescribed them as unskilled workers.They said this was contrary to the Clinical Officers Act signed by President Kenyatta in June which categorized them as skilled workers.

The officers signed the agreement with Health CS Cleopas Mailu and Council of Governors chairman Josephat Nanok at Afya house in Nairobi on Thursday.
Governor Nanok said that the deal was a product of various negotiations between the clinic officers,The council of Governors and the CS Cleophas Mailu.He asked the leaders of the nurses union to call off their strike as well so as to try and improve the problems in the Health sector.
The secretary general of the Kenya Union for clinical officers said that they were not going back because they were happy but because it was a step in the direction the want to head.
The clinic officers applauded the government for agreeing to continue with meetings even after they return to work.
